Improve muscle strength and manage pain
Pilates is a safe and supportive practice designed to improve muscle strength, manage pain, enhance posture and promote flexibility and range of movement.
Our Pilates instructor has specialised experience working with people living with cancer and understands the unique needs associated with treatment and recovery. Exercises are easily modifiable for all levels and can be adapted to suit your individual challenges.
Pilates focuses on core strength, muscle balance and postural alignment. Movements are typically performed on a mat – sitting or lying down – using controlled motion and breath to support the body safely.
For people navigating cancer treatment, Pilates can be a gentle rehabilitation practice, helping with recovery, maintaining strength and supporting overall wellbeing.
Whether you’re in treatment, post-treatment or working on long-term recovery, Pilates at the COUCH Cancer Hub NQ provides a safe, tailored approach to move, strengthen and restore your body.
Pilates is held at the hub every Monday at 12pm and Wednesday at 11am.
