Cancer Care Nursing support

Understanding you

We understand that everyone is unique. Our cancer care nurse services ensure that advice and plans are tailored to suit your needs.

Expert cancer care, when you need it

At COUCH Cancer Hub NQ, a Cancer Care Nurse is often the first point of contact. They listen, guide, and connect you to the right support.

When you first meet, the focus is on understanding your story. The nurse explores your diagnosis, what you know, and the support you need. Many people are unsure what services exist or what to ask. That is completely normal.

By sharing your journey, the Cancer Care Nurse identifies gaps in care, immediate concerns, or areas needing extra support. Then, they provide tailored recommendations. These may include COUCH services or referrals to external providers for urgent needs, such as mental health or specialised medical care. With your consent, the nurse arranges these referrals directly.

Follow-up appointments ensure you remain supported as your needs change. Additionally, your Cancer Care Nurse helps create a personalised wellness plan. This plan may be shared with your GP and treating team, ensuring coordinated, holistic care.

Cancer Care Nurses also support carers and loved ones. They provide guidance, education, and reassurance, helping families feel confident in caring for someone with cancer.

Whether you are newly diagnosed, in treatment, recovering, or living with long-term effects, your Cancer Care Nurse walks alongside you. They empower you, provide clarity, and ensure you always know where to turn for help.
